This lovely café is located in Richmond, just 10 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. It’s on Church St, which is full of furniture stores with really cute dessert stores and cute cafés scattered along the street. Next time I’d love to try Pillar of Salt.
This is the largest café I’ve ever eaten at!! Even so, there’s still a queue. We went on a Saturday morning so that may be why it was so busy. Although, there’s a pleasant grass area just opposite where people sit and wait until a table is ready.
It’s one of those sophisticated, contemporary cafés with a really great energetic vibe. The food is priced just above average usual café joints. It is very well presented – food and interior.
My cousins and I ordered different dishes so we could share and try as many meals as we could. I ordered the bacon and egg bun with apple and pear chutney, which was a strange and interesting combo. However, the bacon was extremely thick and the whole meal in general was pretty overpriced ($16) for something so basic. I really loved the eggs benedict with hollandaise. And the blueberry & ricotta hotcake dish was nice too.
